Adorable Cat Card/ Whimsy Stamps Thinking of Mew Stamp and Die Set

Spread the love

Hello Everyone and welcome. Dawn here. Today I will be making you this cute card that has 4 lovable cats on it. This stamp is a part of the “NEW” Whimsy Stamps Thinking of Mew Stamp and Die set. I will be pairing it up with the “NEW” Chevron background stamp.

So let’s get started.

First, I stamp the images from the stamp set with copic friendly ink.

Once I stamped all of my images, I took the foam insert out of my misti because the red rubber stamps are so thick. I put a little bit of adhesive to hold my card stock in place. I place the Chevron stamp over the card stock and I stamp the image using some black ink.

I use my copic markers to color in the cat images. I don’t do anything special for the coloring. I just do what I like. First, I use C5 cool gray to color the edges of the first cat in the middle bottom. I outline the entire cat and then blend in the middle with the C3 cool gray color.

I color the next cat ( on top of the other gray cat) with the C7 cool gray. I do the top of the cat’s head with the darker gray. Then I color in the body using lighter C3 cool gray.

I use the R11 pale cherry to color in the noses of all the cats and put some pink on the cheeks of the two gray cats.

I color in the eyes using NO neutral gray no. 0.

For the third cat, I start out using the E35 Chamois and I color in the entire body with it. Then, I use E47 to color the ears in.

Next, I use E47 Dark brown to color in the 4th cat. I outline all around the body with this color. Then, I blend the middle of the body using the E25 Caribe Cocoa. Blending the 2 colors as I go.

I cut all the images out using the “Thinking of you mew die set”. Once I cut out all the images, I cut my chevron panel down to 4” x 2 ½”.   I cut a small strip of black card stock to ¼” x 4” wide.

I adhere a piece of craft foam to the back of the chevron paper and adhere it to a piece of white card stock cut to 4” x 5 ¼”.

I adhere the strip of black card stock to the top of the chevron paper. I put foam squares on the back of the cat image and adhere it to the black strip of card stock.

I put foam tape on the back of all  the hearts and adhere them to the front of the card.

Once I’m done with the card, I glue the panel to a piece of black card stock cut to 4 ⅛” x 5 4/8”.

Then I glue the whole panel to a piece of white card stock folded to 5 ½” x 4 ¼”.

I stamp the sentiment “Thinking of Mew” and attach it to the front of the card with foam tape.

That completes my card for today. I’m on the Whimsy Stamps YouTube channel if you would like to see the video to make this card.
