Hi Everyone, Welcome back to my Blog! Today I have a quick and simple card for you. I think this card is just absolutely adorable. I couldn’t resist the little dog image and making a card with it. I think dogs bring such smiles to people faces and who can’t use a smile these days 🙂
So let’s get started on the card!
First I take a piece of Neenah Classic Crest 110lb cardstock cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″. I then place the Honey Bee Stamp Pierced Heart die on top of it holding it in place using purple tape. I then run it through my Gemini Jr machine. When I’m done, I cut a heart out in the center of the paper using the Hero Arts Infinity Heart die set. The next thing I do is place the paper with the heart cut out over the center of a piece of My Favorite Things Red Hot Cardstock cut to 4 2/8″ x 5 3/8″. Now I trace the inside of the heart with a pencil. This will allow me to use the same heart die to cut another heart in the same spot has the first heart. I then run this through my Gemini Jr again. I follow the same steps and cut another heart in the center of piece of white cardstock folded to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. You will now be able to see through the front of the card an the words will be on the inside of the card. Using Art glitter glue, I adhere the heart panel to the Red cardstock and adhere the entire panel to the front of the card.
Using the Misti Stamping tool, I stamp the Mom I Love You sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp -For All Moms Stamp set in the middle of the heart using Gina K Amalgam Black Ink. Once that’s done I use the Honey Bee Stamp Cover die to cut out a bunch of hearts (only because I had this die and it cuts lots of great hearts) but you can use any small heart dies you already have. I colored the heart using Copic Markers. I used R24 – Prawn and R29 – Lipstick Red. Using Foam Tape I adhered it next to the sentiment.
Now onto the dog…….
I stamped the dog image onto a piece of white cardstock using Gina K Amalgam Black ink because it is copic friendly. I used Copic Markers to color the dog image. The colors I used were E35-Chamois and E00 Cotton Pearl for the main part of the dog. I colored his tongue with R11-Pale Cherry Pink. I used 0 No Neutral Gray to color the bone, C7- Cool Gray to color the circle on the collar and R24 – Prawn to color the color.
When all the coloring is done, I fussy cut the dog out using my Tim Holtz Haberdashery Scissors. Then I adhere the dog to the card with some glue.
That completes my card for today. I hope you like it.
I have attached a list of the products I used to create this card if you are interested.
