Hello Crafty Friends….. I’m so glad you could stop by today. I’m very excited to share, Whimsy Stamps had a new Mini release today. (YEAH). I will be using a couple of the products that they released on this card.
First, is the new Baby Bear 6 x 6 Paper Pack. This pack is absolutely adorable. It comes in a 30 pack and you get 2 of each sheet. Each sheet is one sided and you can use it for so many things. This paper pack is great for male birthday cards, new baby, baby shower, Valentine’s day and so much more.
I will be making a Valentine’s Day card with it and I will be pairing it up with the new Connected Hearts Frame Die.
I’m absolutely in LOVE with this die.. It’s a beautiful intricate frame when it’s cut out. It cuts out 2 pieces. The frame and the inside of the heart and it measures approx 3 ½” wide by 3 ½” tall.
So let’s get started on the card. First I cut out 3 of the hearts out from white card stock.
Next, I cut out the word “LOVE” using the Whimsy Stamps Bold ABC letters. I will die cut the letters from a piece of Slate Grey card stock.
Then, I use a piece of white card stock folded to 5 ½” x 4 ¼” and a piece of white card stock cut to 1 ¼” x 4”. I trim the pattern paper down to 4” x 5 ¼” and and I use a piece of slate grey card stock that is cut to 4 3/16” x 5 3/8″.
I glue the pattern paper to the grey card stock. Once I do that, I glue the white strip of paper across the front of the card where I want it to go.
I glue the three heart die cuts together. Since this is a simple card, by adding the 3 layers to the heart it gives dimension to the card.
Then, I will glue the heart where I want it to go on the card. Next I glue the word “LOVE” inside the middle of the heart. I start with the “L” and then I put the “E” in next. This will ensure I have enough space between all the letters.
Using an acrylic block, I stamp the word Hugs & Kisses (from the Whimsy Stamps Simple Sentiments) with Black Ink onto a thin strip of paper and then adhere it to the card with some foam tape.
Then I glue the panel to a piece of cardstock that is folded to 5 ½” x 4 ¼”.
I ALWAYS LOVE to add sparkle to my cards. So to dress the card up I added some Honey Bee Stamp Dew drops to the card. I put them where I wanted them to go and then using my jewel picker I glued them to the card.
