Happy Little Stampers “Anything Goes with Dies” March Challenge

Spread the love

Morning everyone…… So glad you could join me..

It’s that time of the month again when the Happy Little Stampers is having their Anything Goes with Dies Challenge.

Today, I am sharing how I made this really cute Shaker Card  for the Design Team over at the Happy Little Stampers “Anything Goes with Dies” Challenge. So, why not pop on over and join in on the fun!

For my card today, I’m going to be using the Simon Says Stamp Dahlia die and the Simon Says Stamp Love Notes and the Pinkfresh Studios Diagonal Stitched Rectangles.

So let’s get started.

Step 1.  Tape the tow smallest dies together to make a frame. One has a decorative border and the other on is jus a plain rectangle. I center it onto a piece of white 120lb card stock that I cut to 5 ½” x 4 ¼” and  run it though the die cut machine. Die cut 2 more.  This will result in a thick border frame and a thin decorative border.  (check out my video for tips on how to line up the other die to get it centered evenly).

Step 2. Cut a piece of acetate to 5” x 4” Take ⅛” scor tape and put it on the back side of one of the small decorative borders. Then, adhere it on top of a piece of acetate.

Step 3. Take ⅛” scor tape and put it on the back side of one of the small decorative borders. Then, adhere it on top of the  acetate centering it evenly in the middle of it.

Step 4. Take another small decorative border and put ⅛” scor tape on top of it. Then, adhere it on the acetate behind the first one.

Step 5. Put glue on the bottom of the 3rd frame and adhere it on top of the first frame we placed on the acetate.

Step 6. Put liquid glue all the around the frame on top of the acetate and then adhere one of the larger frames around it and press down really good. Then, flip the acetate over and put scor tape on the back of the acetate and adhere the 2nd one on top of the scor tape. Repeat the process attaching the 3rd frame on top of the one you just attached to the acetate.

Step 7. Put foam tape all around the back of the frame. This will build up our the shaker part so the confetti can move around freely. Then set aside for later.

Step 8. Die cut the Simon Says Stamp Dahlia from white card stock twice. Then, using the stick it adhesive. I put in on another piece of white card stock and then die cut another Dhalia flower.  Cut a piece white cardstock to 4 ½” x 11” and scor it at 5 ½” to to make a top folding card.

Step 9. Adhere the first 2 white Dhalia flowers together and then adhere them on top of the one that has the stick-it adhesive on the pack of it. Pull off the adhesive and adhere it to the front of the card on top of the acetate.

Step 10. Take whatever you’re going to fill the card with and put it in the middle of the card base.  Remove adhesive on the shaker front and adhere it over the top of the confetti.

Step 11. Heat emboss the sentiment ” I LOVE YOU” from the Simon Says Stamp “Love Note Stamp set” with gold embossing powder onto black cards stock. Trim down, put foam tape on the back of it and adhere to the front of the card.

And that completes my card for today.
